October

What?? Can you believe it is already the second week in October? Where has the time gone this year? I hope you are taking some time to enjoy this new season that is upon us!
**This week will be another busy one, hopefully not quite as busy as last week. It should be a normal week of school with no big events happening. Last week was packed with CRCT Practice Test, clubs, tutoring starting, the book fair, the dance...I am not sure we could have done much more. In class, we will continue working on a lot of the same topics in class.
Math- divisibility, multiples, factors, prime and composite, odd and even numbers
Writing- Narrative Writing
Grammar- Prepositions and prepositional phrases
Reading- story elements, comprehension, sequencing, connections
Social Studies- Underground Railroad, Civil War
**Reminders: 1. Please remember to check and sign your child's agenda daily.
2. Graded Work comes home on most Thursdays for you to
review with your child and sign and return on Friday. If you
have any questions or concerns please let me know.
3. Encourage your child to read every night for at least 20
minutes. The library will be open this week for check out.
**Upcoming Events: October 12th- Beginning of 2nd nine weeks
16th- Report Cards go home
21st- Early Release-students dismissed 2 hours
early
I want to leave you with a quote that I love...
"Don't let what you can't do stop you from doing what you can do."
-John Wooden
